Our Future
"Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it..."
Psalm 127: 1a
Since Grace Community Church began in January of 2001, God has faithfully provided facilities to meet our needs. Presently, we rent the Boone High School auditorium and several classrooms for Sunday worship and Sunday school. Church offices are located in the lower level of the Livery, where space is available for programs that meet during the week. However, Boone schools does not want to be a permanent home for our Sunday worship, and we have seen God provide for our future needs.
Grace Community Church bought and paid for 9.5 acres of land on South Division Street in the fall of 2002. A building fund began in May of 2004. After much research and revision based on input from the congregation a $1.4 building proposal was presented to the congregation in January of 2005.
After receiving more feedback from the congregation, in February of 2005 the elders set the following goals for the building fund:
* $250,000 - Draft blueprints
* $400,000 - Break ground
* $1.4 million - Total project costs
At the time the goals were set, building fund donations stood at $128,509.75 and total pledges over a five year period were $650,000. A building fund update is included in the monthly newsletter. If you would like to contribute to the building fund, pledge cards are available at the Welcome Table or at the church office.
